Welcome to my Blog
I’ve considered starting a blog or a website many times before. I think the main reason I haven’t was that I didn’t have enough free time to write consistently and make it a habit. My kids are out of the house and I have a much shorter commute, so I consider this problem solved.
The next consideration is: What is the point, who am I writing for? Well, the real answer is myself. I want to use this blog to grow my observation skills, creativity and intellectual thinking. I don’t want this to be a journal that mostly looks inward, rather I want to mostly look outward. I’m always impressed by a novelist’s ability to be so observant and thoughtful. I want to grow that skill, and I believe this blog can be a step in that direction.
Hello world!
Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!
What creations am I most proud of?
Food/ when I cook. That is fleeting. But I really enjoy it and am proud of it. I especially enjoy the impromptu meals with ingredients available that I can cook using just a bit of research, creativity and my cooking skills. If I am cooking a new recipe for one of the first times, then I am following what is written and enjoy it less. And I am less proud of it. However that is important to increase my skill and my repertoire. So I must continue to cook new recipes, at least occasionally.
I created many home videos. They are carefully edited, it took me about an hour for every minute in the end product. They have withstood the test of time. I am still proud of them. We don’t watch them often, but we still will, and I still enjoy them.
My photographs. Mostly of friends and family, but other pictures as well.
My writing. It is fleeting. But when I put effort into writing something, and craft it carefully, I often re-read it for a few days. I admire most when it fully and accurately captures my point, what I am trying to say – in an elegant way.
My woodworking creations.
